Abstract

Pigeons that had been trained to perform in a conditional oddity-from-sample discrimination paradigm using one collection of stimuli were tested for transfer of performance with novel sets of stimuli. In these tests the orientation of sample and comparison shapes differed by 00 , 900 , 1800 and 2700 • The pigeons showed transfer at a high level of accuracy. They were not affected in their performance by the degree of orientation disparity between sample and comparison patterns.
