Abstract

The Mexican anthropologist, Sofía Reding Blase tells us in this essay about Latin-American expression in one of the main contradictions of the twenty-first century, having to do with a major characteristic of today´s world: diversity collapsing into uniformity. What is to be done with the ones who are different? The impacts of the migrations to the south or to the north, to the periphery or to the center, coupled with inherent multiculturalism, show that construction of intercultural citizenship implies formation of a new political culture together with new forms of deliberation and new sensibilities.
