Sobrepeso y obesidad: calidad de vida desde la adolescencia a la edad adulta

Résumé

La adolescencia es una etapa de cambios biopsicosociales que configuran hábitos de vida con impactos a largo plazo en la salud. Las conductas alimentarias y la adherencia a hábitos saludables durante la adolescencia se asocian a menor obesidad y a mayor calidad de vida en la adultez (Bull et al., 2020). Este artículo aborda desde tres perspectivas: psicológica, nutricional y médica. La calidad de vida se define como la percepción de bienestar y funcionamiento biopsicosocial; en adolescentes se vincula a clima escolar, relaciones familiares y manejo del estrés, y en adultos, a salud física y bienestar emocional (Diener, Oishi, & Lucas, 2015). La evidencia sugiere que fortalecer la salud en jóvenes facilita la transición a la adultez con habilidades para evitar hábitos dañinos.
