El enfoque de la economía institucional

Resumen

Este artículo evalúa la “antigua” economía institucional, enfatizando la importancia clave de los demás del “antiguo” institucionalismo respecto de los hábitos, reglas y el rol de las instituciones. El problema del alternativo programa teórico del “nuevo” institucionalismo es su insostenible supuesto de un “mercado” original, libre de instituciones, o el del estado de la naturaleza. Aunque todavía le falta una teoría completa y sistemática, el enfoque “evolucionista” de los “antiguos” institucionalistas enfrenta el problema de la relación interactiva entre el actor y la estructura sin una reducción analítica del uno al otro.
