Abstract

The purpose of this text is to discover Mudejar geometry concepts by researching and establishing principles for eight as a number and as a geometrical basis, analyzing how these principles contributed to developing an identity which, when accepted, was preserved in Spanish and New Spanish architecture. The hypothesis to be proved is how Greek geometric concepts remained and were applied to instruments and designs in architecture which, when selected by the mudéjar, became unique items.
