A Preliminary Mapping of Design and Emotion: Convergences for Social and Environmental Consciousness
Main Article Content
Abstract
Design, as a discipline, has the capacity to incorporate emotions into its process and product in order to create distinctive value through the emotional experience. Emotions, thanks to their impact, influence the decision and acquisition process, accelerate the adoption of new cultural values and encourage empathy with contemporary social problems.
The fruit of a bibliographic survey, this article presents a visual mapping, a general vision of the different theories of design and emotion with their corresponding references, thus promoting their integration with a solid grounding. It also discusses creative projects that propose solutions to contemporary social problems whose field of action falls under one of the three aforementioned actions.
