The Universidad de Sonora Centro de las Artes at the Close of the Twentieth Century
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article suggests an interpretive architectonic critique of the conception and development of the Centro de las Artes at the central campus of the Universidad de Sonora in Hermosillo. Built at the temporal frontier between the last century and this one, in the context of a reform of its institutional legal framework that had major administrative and academic consequences, this complex, besides attempting to resolve the chronic spatial needs of the existing and emerging artistic community, presented spatial and formal characteristics that revealed a will to signify both the reorganization itself as well as expectations of institutional transformation.
