Abstract

Ribes and López's interbehavioral model (1985) propose a field conception of causali-ty, based on the interdependence. This contrasts with dominant views in psychology. Dominant views of causality deriving from Cartesianism and mechanics are characterized by contiguity, molecularity and diachrony criteria. Making use of the methodological notion of causality of this interbehavioral model, I analyze the interdependence notion. lt is argued that such field model contains all possible relationships, including synchronic or not directional causation, which has not been normally considered or used in psychology.
