Abstract
The Seri Kinship system includes more than fifty terms, and
as such is one of the most highly elaborated systems known to date. In this article, both the primary and extended meanings of the terms are given. In addition, words which express revognition
of kin, but which are not kinship terms in so far as word class is
concerned (e.g., they are deriveá from verbs), are presented, as
well as decedent terminology.
