Apuntes para una dialectología del mixe

Abstract

ln this article notes are presented concerning the possible dialectological investigation of the mixe language. Based on studies concerning applied linguistics {especially the possible standarization of the language with goals for literacy), six inicial diagnostic isoglosses are proposed: 1. the weakening of the oral consonants; 2. palatalization; 3. phonetic quality of the palatalized consonants; 4. vowel systems, 5. vowcalic tendencies; and 6. phonetic quality of certain consonants.
