Abstract

Parochial files, are a valuable source of infomation for the reconstruction of the biodemographical characteristics of a population. The anthropological literature, has several studies of this type, due to the exactitude of its information. The present paper is an application of the matricial information, analysis and comparision, contained on the books of marriages of three parochies: San Cayetano, La Palma and Mantua. Located on the eastern region of the provence of Pinar del Rio, Cuba. We have based our research fundamentaly on the classic method proposed by Mantel in 7967,that allowed us to evaluate the structure of access to marriages with respect to the distance of the geographical origin of the spouses, from a biological point of view. This permited us to understand the genetic composition of the population in reference to such aspects, as the endogamy, the matrimonial ratio, and others.
