Abstract

The first part of this work makes a brief review of the origin and development of the prospccting techniques and is followed by the proposal of a new methodology for the study of archaeological sites. This rnethodology is a pioneer approach in the study of archaeological sites from the surface. lt proposes the ordered application of prospecting techniques, not only to locate the structures, but understand the activities related to them. Through the study of the distribution of archaeological materials on the surface and the distribution of chemical elements and compounds, it is possible to establish the relationship between structures and activity areas.
