Abstract

It is proposed that a number of intrusive traits found in Guerrero, such as Fine Orange ware, corbeled vaults, Maya like ceramic figurines and "jadeite" pendants, dot and bar numbers, stelas, and possible chultuns, all of which are characteristic of the Maya area, are evidence for a trade route between Tabasco and Central Mexico during the Late Classic period, following the demise of Teotihuacan. It is further proposed that the Putun Maya were mainly responsible for this trade route.
