Abstract

In response to the imposition of Catholicism, the native peoples have learned to metabolize, fuse, re-invent, substitute and complement items from the most sacred Catholic texts, those over which ecclesiastic hierarchy has always exerted the most rigorous control, bringing in other elements which for them are most effective and authentic.
