Abstract

Human ontogeny, as biological fact irrefutable and universal was established as a temporary measure from the West unit, but the meaning and its representation are intimately related with the worldview, which some changes from one culture to another. In the present study, since the conceptual instrument of analog hermeneutics, based on the review of historical sources and various scientific studies, the proposal of such ontogenetic model for the life cycle in Mesoamerica, undeniably linked to a particular conception of time and space which is reflected in the rituals and myths. This proposal seeks to interpret the divergence found in the skeleton of K’inich Janaab’ Pakal I de Palenque and the other Mayan rulers, the biological age and chronological age of the Epigraphic record.
