Abstract

One of the topics landscape archaeology deals with is the circulation of people, in massive concurrences, in transit through large centers, mainly during civic and religious ceremonies. This essay proposes a circuit through the different spaces and architectural settings that conform Chinkultic, by relating the representation on stelae and their distribution, the possible function of buildings and the symbolic orientation established between a scenic ensemble, a pyramid at the top of a hill and a water filled cenote.
