Abstract

This book is, without a doubt, a marvelous text, not only because of its famous author, Dr. Eulalia Guzmán, but also because it consists of a series of transcriptions of talks given by the erudite, polemic and incomparable researcher between 1960 and 1961, which reflect numerous arguments and questions about the so-called “History” of the conquest of Mexico. I must warn that much water has flowed under the bridge on this subject and it is not my idea, because it would not only be anachronistic but also unfair, to formulate a critique of the proposals that were requisitioned by their author and that respond to her personal concerns and those of her time.
