Abstract
At the end of the reading of the work La panique woke. Anatomie d'une offensive réactionnaire, it is worth underlining the great topicality of the subject addressed, the finesse with which it is analyzed and the pertinence of the interpretation proposed, based on the concept of the state of moral panic. In doing so, the author displays a profound knowledge of the American and French socio-political realities, which allows for a detailed and comparative vision, not only of Wokism, but also of the discourses and attitudes of the conservative sectors against it, which try to discredit and demonize it by resorting to exaggeration and lies. Mahoudeau also highlights the sometimes contradictory and ineffective nature of certain approaches that attempt to respond to the attacks against Wokism. Throughout the book, he uses numerous examples in a fluid style and accessible language, which makes it a pleasure to read.
