Abstract

The home gardens are spaces of the house where an ample diversity of vegetables are cultivate by the inhabitants. This vegetables are used of many forms. The south of State of Mexico is delimited biogeographic by a zone of ecological transition or ecotono where the conditions physical, biological, social, economic and cultural interaction in the existence the home gardens. On this spaces find diverse species of plants with diversity of functions, management and services for the families. The made research was mainly to demonstrate that the home gardens represent a vital strategy, for the subsistence of the families and important spaces for conservation of the biodiversity agriculture on the zone.
