Abstract

Carlos Véjar Pérez Rubio analyzes in this work how the global expansion of capitalism tends to create a one-dimensional and urban world which subjects particularities and singularities to universal Western values, specially those of the market. According to this Mexican architect and writer, the homogenizing process has reached the environmental culture of Latin America and the Caribbean, as much in theoretical reflection as in practical application and design. The disjunction now for him, in this field, is "colonization or liberation".
