GLOBALIZATION AND ALTERNATIVE SOCIAL PROJECTS IN THE THIRD WORLD
Main Article Content
Abstract
Is there a possible way out of, or a realistic possible alternative to, liberal globalization for the Third World Countries and particularly for the countries of Our America, an alternative which keeps intact the transformative ideals of liberty, equality and well being? The Costa Rican economist, lawyer and politician Alvaro Montero Mejía attempts to answer this question, unmasking in this essay the so called unique thinking that causes humanist social concepts —collaboration, solidarity and mutual aid— to vanish from political language in favor of the fundamentalism of the market.
