Abstract

"I do not understand what kind of moral criteria apply to the principle that a crime of the past is not a crime" says the Argentinean writer Rodolfo Alonso in this essay, in which he criticizes Black Spain's committed genocide in these American lands five centuries ago, while he rescues the pluralist Spain of our days. And he quotes the words pronounced by John Paul II in 1992: "How could the Church in this centenary forget the great suffering inflicted upon the people of this continent during the period of conquest and colonization?"
