Abstract
The figure of Max Jiménez (1900-1947), a prolific and versatile Costa Rican artist who was successful in integrating his plastic work and literature, is celebrated by the Costa Rican writer Amalia Chaverri in this beautifully illustrated article. To commemorate his hundredth birthday and the fiftieth anniversary of his death, The Costa Rican Academy and Cultural Institutions proposed the task of rescuing his values and the heritage he left to the generations that would follow him.
