THE KCHO ARCHIPELAGO

Abstract

Cuba is a window with a 360 degree view of the sea. Sergio López, Cuban Art critic, is the editor of the book El Archipiélago de Kcho, which treats recent works of the Cuban plastic artist Kcho, born in 1970. His iconography is based on elements linked to the sea, such as boats, docks, cameras, propulsión screws, and oars, which characterize a catalog of works that have been presented in several museums and other institutions around the world. This work extends across the Caribbean waters as if it were a cultural archipelago within the Cuban visual topography.
