JUAN GELMAN BEFORE AND AFTER THE CERVANTES PRIZE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Rodolfo Alonso, Argentinean poet, translator, and writer, offers here an impeccable treatise about his countryman, Juan Gelman, everybody's poet. A man who has known how to put together live and poetry, up to the point where. Without bending. He assumes a vertical posture which turns him into a Latin American icon of his time. Alonso describes with magisterial precision what he calls "that fertile tension, among others, between fidelity to poetry and to ideas", in which Gelman has been able to install "as a breath to the same body of its writing."
