1929 ALLIANCE OF WORKERS, PEASANTS AND INTELLECTUALS IN COSTA RICA

Abstract

In an interview given by Joaquín García Monge, and published in the newspaper The Spectator on August 10, 1929, this outstanding Costa Rican intellectual proposed an interesting nationalist program for his country which still invites reflection eight decades later. Among the points to consider are such relevant temporary topics as the consolidation of the regime of opinion and Hispanic-American concerns. "We advance towards the continent as ONE and undertake the Mexican project of continental citizenship", says the founder and director of the magazine "Repertorio Americano".
