LATÍN AMERICA: LIBERATION YET TO BE COMPLETED

Main Article Content

Abstract

Nils Castro considers in this essay the flux in Greater Latin-America and the state of the National Liberation process, wherein the reconfiguration of the political map of the region, with many leftist governments coming to power, is evident. He also considers the failure of the Neoliberal doctrine and of the recipes of the Washington Consensus, which precipitated the current economic crisis. "Nothing bad lasts for a hundred years" says the Panamanian political scientist; however, this statement does not imply that his analysis is extremely optimistic.
