Abstract

The Latin American cinema exists. Of course, the Hollywood industry, mainly, having an almost absolute control of the production and the distribution, works to disappear it, purpose that has been increased in this time signed by the neoliberalism and the globalization. The Argentinean critic Guadi Calvo describes us in this article the resistance of the seventh art in the area of the Caribbean, whose wealth and cultural diversity has been expressed completely in the main films taken place by the film directors of the diverse countries of the region that Calvo enlists and analyze.
