Main Article Content
Abstract
“In Latin America everything is about to be done”, the Mexican researcher Lauro Zavala says in this article, referring to the situation of the studies of cinema in this region, dominated in the last 50 years by some characteristics which have prevented a productive dialogue with the international tradition, and which has affected history, theory and the critical evaluation of film, marked by its epistemological nature, especially in such closely related fields as photography, performing arts, visual arts, musicology and literature.
