Abstract

The hottest theme in migratory reform awaiting attention in the United States is the necessity of resolving the problem of hundreds of thousands of Mexican and Latin-American workers who cross the northern border to look for means to survive in the job sources of the neighboring country, often at the cost of their dignity and their own lives. Such is the topic of this article by the Mexican political scientist Samuel Schmidt, criticizing both North American and Mexican governments, whose submissive politics translate into an ambivalent attitude regarding this issue.
