Main Article Content
Abstract
This essay analyzes the ideas that generated the notion of gender and femininity from the Enlightenment to post-structuralism. Its core argument is that feminism is a sociocultural construction that ranges from the recognition of a universal Western woman to the idea of women in diverse struggles for liberation.
