Abstract

Modern architecture’s history cannot be fully understood without its publications. Used primarily as reliable sources of information, and vital to the development of research in architecture, it’s easy to overlook the fact that architecture publications do not transmit innocent, pristine and transparent information; the knowledge they contain and the way in which they present it follows their author’s specific intentions. The very existence of these publications and their inner logistics have profoundly affected our discipline and society at large, beyond the information they broadcast.

Inside this edition of Bitácora, we reflect on the accomplishments, stagnations and horizons of a group of knowledge –media and architecture– which is barely beginning to define its range of action.
