Center of origin, indigenous groups, peasant population and corn diversity

Abstract
This article discusses centers of origin and genetic divesification of domesticated plants in Mexico, in the context of the introduction of transgenic hybrids to Mexico. The teritories of present day indigenous groups are associated with strains of corn. Mexico needs to assume the responsabilities that go with its extraordinary biodiversity to face present and future challenges.
