Pre hispanic astronomy as an expression of notions of space and time in mesoamérica

Abstract

We know that for millenia Mesoamericans observed the Milky Way and the apparent movement of the sun and the moon. They identified constellations and recorded eclipses and comets, all in the context of a religious system that allowed them to develop a calendar.
