Abstract

Recently a new investigation line arose in archaeology, denominated battlefield archaeology; its main objective is to find the archaeological evidence of the places of warlike conflict. Nevertheless, there were few works that are focused to search skeletal remains from victims of those confrontations. In this paper a new proposal is presented to find the skeletal remains of those who died in battlefields, using the archaeological techniques that have been used thoroughly in the forensic sciences; the application of this techniques is sought touse in one of the places of military war of ‘Guerra del Mixtón (1540-41)’, raised in the caxcan region whose location is centered in the south part of Zacatecas and northeast of Jalisco.
