Abstract

In this paper, we will explore the differences in the food systems of XVII–XVIIIst Mexico City’s indians and castas through microelemental analysis. The different components of diet in these groups will refer us to food practices depending on cultural selection, more than acquisition capacity. This investigation were developed using a biocultural framework to the understanding of food and nutrition in the past.
