Abstract

In this work we show the results of the investigation carried out on one of two mummies, that are in the collections of the Regional Museum of Guadalajara, Jalisco, from the first half of the past century. The mummy belongs to a man around, 40 to 45 years old, who was artificially mummified that shows modern embalming. The analyses was based in morphoscopic, radiology and tomography images and with the historic data that we were able to obtain from this mummy we could appreciate the present about them. On the head of this mummy we could appreciate the present of a hole caused by a firearm, the trajectory of the bullet, its location and the distance of the shoot. This was possible to realize by the radiological and computed tomography analyses. Furthermore, we were able to evaluate the conservation status of the internal organs. For this reasons, we emphasise that utility of using other methods like the radiography and computed tomography to determinate pathology in a more precise way that allow us to determinate the cause of death and the mechanics of lesions found in the materials subject to study.
