Abstract

In this work we evaluate the diagenesis in archaeological bone, coming from the state of Hidalgo, Mexico and date from the XVI century. The images were correlated and the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) with the microstructure bone with their elementary chemical composition in the exterior, mediates and interior parts of the femur. For this study we selected the middle sections of the femur diafisis of human skeletons of both sexes. The chemical composition results from the bones are correlated with the chemical composition of the funeral lands. This is a continuation of a preceding research which we analyzed bone density and porosity in another skeletons sample excavated in the same site (Gómez et al. 2003).
