Abstract

This paper tracks the ideas around the notions of «origin» and «biological evolution» in the Classic Greek World and among its immediate inheritors the Romans is brought up covering the period of time between VI bC. and aD. IV, under the accepted prior assumption that indicates the beginning of the Western scientific thought in the little Mileto’s bosom, in Minor Asia. It is evident from the found answers that the search of rational explanations to the own existence begins by giving an account of the materials that formed the matter, as first attempt to any later evolutionary thought.
