Los antiguos pobladores de Colima: un acercamiento osteológico. Sus costumbres funerarias

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to make known some of the funerary habits practiced by prehispanic inhabitants of Colima: the way they treated their dead, preparations made to deposit the deseaced, how the place of burial was chosen, use made of mortuary remains time after burial, as well as other general aspects of the mortuary ritual. The results of this investigation are the product of interdisciplinary research involving ethnohistoric, archaeological and physical anthropological analisys.
