Abstract

This paper aims to describe the main contributions by Joseph Dominic Matarazzo to the behavioral health, is aimed primarly at students of psychology, medicine and nursing to make known their studies, results and proposals for improving the overall health by reviewing the main conceptual historical research, hoping to promote the teaching and clinical practice, the importance, advantages and usefulness of the behavioral medicine in the various health sciences, for this purpose, various concepts are described, such as lifestyle, habits, behavioral inmmunogens, pathogens, behavioral medicine, behavioral health, health psychology, understanding medicine, and so on. Similarly, the contributions mentioned Matarazzo made to promote the comprehensive training doctors, psychologist and psychiatrists in the various academic levels. Presents itself, a brief overview of the career of this author.
