Abstract

One of the main ideas of modern phílosophy of mind is that there isn't consciousness without self-consciousness. Some contemporary philosophers reject this idea because it falls into paradoxes among which there is an infinite regress of srates of consciousness. In this paper I show how Descartes and Kant could subscribe to that idea avoiding this infinite regress.
