Abstract

Based on “law and film” technique, the essay shows an adequacy between the film “Manderlay”
and the modern law with its main trend in Latin America. In this order of ideas, is raised an stratagem
in which the prevailing rationality in the modern legal though and the character Grace of the referred
movie, correspond in image and likeness, establishing as discursive axis, the unintended consequences of
the modern rational discourse. The use of this technique allows to give a revisionist mean to the critical
legal studies, in which to observe the questionament of the legal forms, its rising and the nature of the
society which embrace them, try to present the unseen by other points of view, involving a dialog between
the present and the absent
