Abstract

The article explains the distinction between methods and methodology, since the challenges of scientific research require that they be understood as useful tools to allow understanding and argumentation of the different problems of study. The lack of distinction between the two concepts as a point of departure in the teaching of social sciences, causes wrong visions that translates into confusion or failure at the time to reflect on its content and application. It also explains that knowledge of social science is not conclusive, but that is part of challenges that must be addressed to validate its term, even more so in a time which, like the present, has no point of rest, but it is in constant transformation.
