CONSUMO PRIVADO POR ORIGEN Y COMPONENTE: EFECTOS INGRESO Y PRECIO PARA MÉXICO

Abstract
A partir de ocho componentes del consumo privado, i.e. artículos no duraderos, semiduraderos y duraderos, así como servicios, tanto de origen interno como foráneo, su demanda se estima en función del ingreso y precios para México a partir de 2003. Se utiliza al PIB como aproximación del ingreso. En cuanto a precios, se incorporan sus relaciones internas o alternativamente, el tipo de cambio real bilateral México-EE.UU. Los artículos y servicios de origen interno presentan una demanda inelástica, con excepción del consumo duradero. Este último y la totalidad de artículos y servicios de origen foráneo, muestran coeficientes claramente elásticos. Artículos duraderos de origen interno y foráneo, así como los no duraderos importados, responden al tipo de cambio real. La demanda del resto de componentes obedece a relaciones internas de precios. La demanda de servicios foráneos no resultó estadísticamente significativa ante cambios en los precios.
