THE ROLE OF STRESS AND LEARNING OF CHRONIC DISEASES: DIABETES AND HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

Abstract

Chronic diseases are responsible for 60% of deaths in the world, the impact on society, two of these diseases are global pandemics think these are essential hypertension and diabetes mellitus type 2, countries that are most affected are in low and medium development, live in these places 80% of people with these diseases, added to this and paradoxically these countries receive less than 10% of global resources to control these diseases.

This situation leads us to a review of psychological factors involved in the development and maintenance of these pathologies, which has been come into play in improving the quality of life of people with these diseases, therefore also important to know how to address this problem from the perspective of health psychology, and possible alternative solutions offered to counter the effects of these diseases.
