Abstract

The aim of this paper is to provide a full and rich view on the qualitative and quantitative methods applied in the field of Health Psychology, presenting a wide picture that clearly shows the weaknesses and strengths of both methodologies. In a concisely way, this document sets out the methodological approaches that are carried out to address various problems in this field, and the use of quantitative or qualitative methods based on the type of circumstance that may arise.
The above is the natural background for the analysis regarding strengths and weaknesses of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, in the Health Psychology field, through an analysis of their particular characteristics.

Finally, we elaborated an specific case referred to this area, and concluded this document with a  scheme which calls to articulate both methods, rather than contrasting them and favor the use of one over the other.
