Abstract

After a brief review of the historical context where in The Behavior of Organisms emerges, the author suggests that the primary importance of the book consists of being the most successful attempt to systematize the known facts of the "voluntary" behavior of organisms, in the history of psychology. In order to underscore the impact of the hook over the subsequent development of psychology, the author discusses its influence over the study of psychological processes, its areas of application, and over the research on the Experimental Analysis of Behavior.
