Abstract

Albeit human communities form differentiated collective identities that constitute the plural tile of mankind, various circumstances spur the emergence of prejudices amongst them. Racism is a modality of ideological and cultural prejudice, by which certain communities are considered “inferior”. Can racism be found in Mexico? Rather than providing definitive answers, the author depicts three “image prints” where racist symptons are found: “the gringo", “made abroad”, “the native indian”. The author highlights the value of education against racist prejudices, understanding education as a system that comprises schools and mass media.
