The Jaguar and the Eagle: A Study of Brazilian-Mexican Bilateral Relations in the Early Twenty-First Century

Abstract

The article deals with current economic and political relations between Brazil and Mexico. It points out that economic relations are very intense, especially in terms of trade and investments. Today, political dialogue between these countries is constructive, important and increasingly significant, but at the same time there are some kind of geopolitical differences arising, primarily from inconsistencies in the aspirations for leadership both on stage and in Latin America and the Caribbean global forums. Finally, the paper proposes three scenarios for the future of Mexican-Brazilian relations.
